The case example has also been published in issue 2/2020 of the Finnish Crested Dogs association's member magazine. An animal does not always have to be sick to benefit from thermal imaging. For this article, we took thermal images of two Chinese crested dogs.
Both dogs were healthy based on the thermal imaging examination, but both had a finding in the back area. When talking with the owner, it was found that both dogs were using similar harnesses. In this case, the harnesses didn’t fit the dogs properly and created pressure on the dogs’ backs. Thermal imaging can therefore also be used to check the fit of the equipment.
Thermal imaging is also excellent for monitoring the effectiveness of treatment and the progress of recovery.
